Privacy Policy
Effective 22 September 2026 · Last reviewed 22 September 2026
1. Scope
This policy explains how Gajema, an independent editorial resource operated from Seoul, handles information when visitors read, search, or contact us. It applies to this website and related editorial correspondence. It does not apply to external services linked from our pages. We aim to collect only information needed to operate a readable and accountable publication.
It covers visitors in the Republic of Korea and readers elsewhere who access the site. Gajema is responsible for the editorial website and the contact channel identified below. The policy does not create a user account system and we do not require registration to read ordinary pages.
For privacy questions, write to 24-1, Nonhyeon-ro 155-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, 06041, Republic of Korea, or call +82-2-7105-8329. We normally acknowledge a privacy request within 7 business days and aim to provide a substantive response within 30 days.
2. Information collected
Server logs may record an IP address, browser type, device category, requested page, referring page, and time of access. Contact forms collect the name, email address, subject, and message supplied by the visitor. We do not request wallet credentials, private keys, financial account details, or sensitive identity documents.
Some information is supplied automatically by the hosting environment when a page is requested. A contact message may also contain information a visitor chooses to include, so we ask readers not to send secrets, identity documents, or unrelated personal information. We do not intentionally collect precise location, biometric data, or information about children.
We may receive delivery status from an email or hosting provider when needed to handle a message. Such information is used for correspondence administration rather than profiling. If a visitor sends a correction, the article title, source, and factual explanation may be retained with the correspondence.
3. Legal basis
Where Korean privacy law applies, processing is based on providing the requested website service, responding to a communication, maintaining security, and pursuing legitimate editorial administration. Optional analytics are used only where consent is available. A visitor may withdraw optional consent without affecting access to ordinary pages.
Where consent is the basis, the choice is recorded only as needed to respect the choice. Where processing is necessary to answer a message or protect the service, refusing optional analytics does not prevent that activity. We assess necessity and proportionality before introducing a new optional processing purpose.
4. Use of information
We use information to deliver pages, prevent abuse, answer messages, understand broad readership patterns, and correct technical faults. We do not use contact details to make financial offers or infer a visitor’s investment profile. Editorial research is conducted from public sources and is not personalized advice.
Access records may be reviewed when investigating unusual traffic, outages, or security incidents. Correspondence may be shared internally with the person responsible for editorial review, but access is limited to the task. We do not sell personal information or use it for automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
5. Retention
Routine security logs are normally retained for up to 30 days. Contact correspondence is retained for up to 24 months after the last meaningful exchange, unless a longer period is needed to document a correction or comply with a legal obligation. Cookie preference records remain for up to 12 months.
A correction file may retain the relevant source and change history for the life of the affected article because readers need to understand how an explanation changed. Records may be deleted earlier when they are no longer useful, subject to backup cycles and lawful preservation duties.
6. Service providers
Hosting, delivery, form processing, email, security, and measurement services may process limited information on our instructions. Providers are selected for operational necessity and are expected to use appropriate confidentiality and security controls. They may include the website host, an email delivery service, and a consent or analytics provider if optional measurement is enabled.
Providers do not receive wallet credentials because Gajema does not request them. A linked third party that a visitor opens independently is governed by that party’s own notice. We do not permit processors to use contact correspondence for unrelated advertising.
7. International transfers
Some infrastructure providers may process technical data in countries outside the Republic of Korea. Before using such a provider, we consider contractual safeguards, access controls, and the provider’s stated security practices. A transfer may be necessary for hosting, delivery, or email reliability.
Visitors may contact us to ask which category of provider handled a particular request. We do not publish detailed security configurations where doing so could weaken the service.
8. Rights and requests
Subject to applicable law, a visitor may ask about access, correction, deletion, processing restriction, or withdrawal of optional consent. Send the request through contact.php or to the address above with enough detail to identify the relevant correspondence. We may request reasonable verification before disclosing or deleting information.
We aim to respond within 30 days, or explain why an extension is needed. If a request cannot be fulfilled, we will state the reason and identify any available complaint route. A visitor may contact the Personal Information Protection Commission of Korea where applicable.
9. Security and incidents
We use access limitation, ordinary hosting safeguards, and a need-to-know approach for correspondence. No internet transmission can be described as completely secure. If we identify an incident affecting personal information, we will assess it and make notifications required by applicable law.
10. Changes and contact
This policy was reviewed on 22 September 2026. Earlier review: 1 June 2026, when retention wording and contact procedures were clarified. Future material changes will be shown on this page with a new effective date.

Additional privacy details
Gajema uses the minimum information reasonably needed to deliver pages, respond to correspondence, protect the service, and maintain an accountable editorial record. The legal basis for operational logs is the legitimate interest in security and service delivery, balanced against the visitor’s reasonable expectations. Contact information is processed to answer a request and, where appropriate, to follow up on a correction or accessibility matter.
Routine server logs are normally retained for up to 30 days, unless a shorter period is available through the hosting configuration or a longer period is needed to investigate abuse, preserve evidence, or meet a legal obligation. Contact correspondence is normally retained for 24 months after the last meaningful exchange, after which it is deleted or anonymized unless an editorial record requires limited retention. A correction record may retain the relevant source, date, and decision without retaining unnecessary contact details.
Service providers may include the hosting provider, transactional email provider, security tooling provider, and privacy-respecting measurement provider if optional measurement is enabled. Providers receive only the data needed for their contracted function, must apply appropriate safeguards, and may process information in countries outside the Republic of Korea. Where an international transfer occurs, Gajema seeks contractual, technical, or other safeguards appropriate to the circumstances.
Visitors may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a copy of personal information, and may object to processing where applicable. Send the request to the address or phone number stated in this policy and identify the page, approximate date, and preferred response method; do not send passwords or identity documents unless specifically requested through a secure process. We may ask for proportionate verification to prevent disclosure to the wrong person, acknowledge the request within 7 business days, and normally respond within 30 days, subject to lawful extensions.
Complaints may first be sent to Gajema so that the relevant record can be reviewed. We aim to provide a written outcome or progress update within 30 days, explaining any correction, refusal, or need for more time. A visitor in Korea may also contact the Personal Information Protection Commission through its current public channels if the concern cannot be resolved directly.
This policy was reviewed on 22 September 2026. Earlier operational wording may have been updated to clarify retention periods, international processing, and request handling without changing the limited purposes described above. Future material changes will be dated on this page and, where appropriate, brought to visitors’ attention through the site notice.
